On the Destiny Home page under Digital School Library are the sources available for research.  At school these are accessible without a login, at home the following log-ins must be used.

To search the database no login is needed.

To use the features of Destiny such as making lists, placing holds, viewing personal information, writing reviews, and making recommendations to other students each patron must log-in.

The log-in is Name:           student id #

                              Password:    Last Name  (legal on birth certificate name)

Start here for all your research needs. The first section of the home page is the Digital School Library. The sites listed here will provide your elementary student with safe and reliable sources.  Please check out these sites, at school you can go to them directly.  At home you need log-ins and passwords.  The log-ins are in the Passwords document.

CATALOG

Now visit our catalog, and check out the Web Path Express listing on the left hand column.  This feature contains web sites that have been reviewed and deemed safe by the Follett company that provides Destiny; our district pays extra for this feature.  It sorts the sites by levels and gives parents "peace of mind" when their students are using it.  They will not find anything objectionable or inappropiate.  If they do please let me know.

Come check out books for your children!

Parents are more than welcome to visit the Cleveland Media Center to check out books to use with your children.  The students are allowed 2 or 3  books at a time.  Parents may check out up to 10 books to use with your children, or to read yourself.

One good thing about using the school library is we do not charge overdue fines.  We do require that you pay for any lost books.

Consider dropping in and checking out some books to read with or to your children.  Children that are read to develop a great vocabulary and are more likely to become readers themselves.
